What you get
Over-The-Top builds a complete trading card set around one hockey team. Not a single novelty card, but a designed set, the way a real card release works: a base card for every player on the roster, insert cards in retro designs, our own OTT Originals, and holographic parallels seeded through the packs.
The cards then get sealed into packs. Nobody sees the lineup before pack day, which is the entire point. A kid pulling their own card, or their linemate's, is a completely different moment from being handed a photo.
What's on a youth hockey card
A professionally designed front carrying the player's photo, and a real back with their name, number and position plus a written player profile. Like the pros, the designs change year over year and season to season, so this year's set never looks like last year's.
Goalies, defence and forwards all get the same treatment. Positions are printed on the card the way you'd expect: C, LW, RW, D, G.
Team Packs and Player Packs
Two pack types, and most teams want both:
- Team Packs hold a mix of teammates. These are the ones built for trading. Doubles get swapped on the bench, and everyone is chasing the goalie's card.
- Player Packs hold six cards of one player only, a complete set of that kid's base card and inserts. This is the parent's pack, the one that ends up framed.
The 2025–26 sets
- Base Set: every player on the roster, front and back, in team colours.
- Retro Inserts: throwback designs pulled from the '70s, '80s and '90s hockey card eras.
- OTT Originals: our signature design, built to be the chase card of the set.
- Holographic Parallels: the rarest pull in the box.
When to order
Most hockey teams aim at one of three moments: the end-of-season banquet, the last practice before playoffs, or Christmas. Sets are built one team at a time, so the earlier you start, the more room there is in the schedule. Tell us the date you're working toward and we'll confirm what's realistic before you commit.
Ringette and other ice sports
Ringette teams get exactly the same treatment as hockey teams: same sets, same packs, same process. If you play on ice, we can build your set.
Where we work
Over-The-Top is based in Stittsville, Ontario, just outside Ottawa, and builds card sets for youth hockey and ringette teams worldwide. If you are ordering from outside Canada, get in touch first and we will confirm shipping and timing for your team. Association-wide programs are quoted directly, so get in touch if you're organising more than one team.
What it costs
Pricing is per player. Team packages include tradable Team Packs for the whole roster plus an Individual Player Pack for every kid.
- Individual Player Package: $49 per player. 3 packs, 18 cards. No team minimum, so one family can order on their own.
- Starter Team Package: $35 per player. 5 packs, 30 cards. Minimum 8 players.
- Premier Team Package: $45 per player. 7 packs, 42 cards. Minimum 8 players.
